This morning you will be picked up at your ship by your private driver for the drive to Rome, in Rome you’ll meet up with your private English-speaking guide for the remainder of the day (7 hours).
Enjoy a highlighted drive around the city center to see & learn about the major monuments. Your guide will recommend a nice restaurant for light lunch stop to break up the morning and afternoon sightseeing. Arguably one of the most pivotal cities in ancient history is Rome. It’s incredible influence spans over 2,500 years from the legend of the first king Romulus and his defeated twin brother Remus to Julius Caesar’s Republic and the birth of the empire under Augustus.
Rome is known as the Eternal City and it is awash with grandiose architectural wonders dating all the way back to antiquity, as well as beautifully designed Baroque fountains & churches, Renaissance artworks and its lively modern piazzas. It’s home to the Vatican, where you can see some of the greatest art in the world.
